Trip details via our guest’s FAQ:
Brews and Tubes event is back! We started this trend in 2016 in Plumtree many moons ago as Thrifty Adventures in partnership with the Blind Squirrel Brewery. We are bringing it back at our own new river outpost, store and lodging in partnership with Homeplace Beer Co. & Hog Hollow Wood Fired Pizza in downtown Burnsville NC!

Shuttle will arrive promptly at the times listed above. Guests should park in the gravel lot behind the stage at the brewery off Hillside Street downtown. Please have your stuff ready to go and any items you need placed in our coolers set aside for our shuttle drivers to grab. Don’t forget your DD for your drive home!
How can I book?
Easy, click the orange book now button! Booking and waivers must be done online a minimum of 24 hours in advance to help the Brewery and the River Outfitter properly prepare! Event size minimum is 10, with a max event size of 32. If we do not reach the group size requirement for the event guests will be called a minimum of 24 hours in advance. Guests will have the option to be moved to this trip: River Tubing – NC Outdoor Adventures
What does it cost?
This depends on what vessel you chose to take you on your voyage!!! We have the largest tube and boat selection of any outfitter in WNC. We have double tubes, single tubes, child tubes, xxl tubes, our clover leaf 4-person Quad tube, the Mini-Cat boat, youth kayaks, various other kayaks, rafts, and fishing boats.
Includes PFD and round-trip shuttle.

Float Options | Rate |

Can I bring my children?
Supervised children are welcome, ages 5+ or 40lbs, due to car seat limitations with the shuttle. 5-year-olds need to ride with a parent in a lap or consider booking a double tube or kayak for you and your toddler. Anyone 12 and under must be in a PDF (i.e. life jacket), included in your booking! If you cannot swim, PLEASE grab a PFD when we stop at the Outpost shop before hitting the river!
What do I need to bring to enjoy my float trip?
Please do not bring anything on the river you do not want wet or something you do not want to lose to the river! This includes car keys and phones! If you do bring those items, we recommend they go in a dry bag! Only, bring basic items on the shuttle including towels, water, brewery goodies and a great attitude! Our staff will get event pictures that you can purchase at the end of your trip, so no need to worry about ruining that expensive phone! This way guests can be present and enjoy the moment!
Shoes are required; flip flops will wash away! Prescription glasses or expensive eye wear should be attached with sports straps. We recommend water, sunscreen, and bug spray! We sell all these items in our store. Additional store items include Mini Cat boats, signs, walking sticks, gems, fossils, and jewelry. FYI: No need to bring your wallet, our guest services will charge the card used at the time of booking.
Is that water cold?
The water temperature here in the summer can vary between 60 to 70 degrees. The Toe River is typically a bit colder because ½ the water (South Toe) comes off Mount Mitchell, the tallest peak in the Southeast. Most of the water in the Toe River also comes from natural springs!
Can I bring my dog?
Sorry, no. Our river outpost is also a working farm with free range chickens and guineas. Plus, not all folks love the fur family, and some folks are allergic ☹
